Les Pérégrinations de Pierre

I have decided not to make my way using buses as the distances are huge and Brazilian buses much less comfortable than Argentinian ones! After a direct flight from Rio to Salvador, here I am in Bahia State.

I head of directly north to a small village called Praia do Forte. The main attraction there is a Marine Turtle conservation center and the ruins of the house of one of the first Potuguese settler

2 days in Itacaré (south of Salvador) - Surfers´ paradise - I have not been brave enough to jump on a board, I spent 2 days lying on a beach and walking in the nearby jungle (I realised to my own expense that the 'Havaianna' is not the best jungle walking shoe!!)

I am now finishing my stay in Salvador.

3 weeks is a very short time to discover Brazil. I have only travelled along the coast. This leaves a 'come back taste'. Next time I´ll work on my Portuguese and will venture inland.
