Les Pérégrinations de Pierre

After La Paz, I headed to the Titicaca Lake. I was not only eager to see what have been and will be the subject of numerous giggles from school kids :-) but also to see the famous  reed rafts that Thor Heyerdal used to cross part of the Pacific (I saw the reeds but not the rafts… not very popular anymore!).

 I stayed on the Isla Del Sol, it´s the birth place of the Sun and hosts the rock that gave Titicaca Lake its name –a crouching puma, Titi Khar´Ka, the Rock of the Puma in Tihuanaco language, the pre-Inca inhabitants.

Once out of the boat, I had to climb the Escalera Del Inca

to reach the top of Yumani, a charming little village on the top of a ridge. An exhausting walk but very rewarding views

Note that the locals use donkeys to carry their goods

During 2 days I have done lots of walking, sightseeing and trout eating!
